The role: Enterprise Sales Engineer, Geospatial The Enterprise team at Google is on the front lines of helping the globe "go Google."A As an Enterprise Direct Sales representative, you evangelize Google tools like Apps, Search and Chrome to leading companies, schools and government agencies. You champion the innovative power of our products to make these large accounts more productive, collaborative and mobile. You bring Google's portfolio into big and small companies around the world, and handling complex customer and stakeholder relationships comes easy to you. With a passion for Google products, you seal the deal and help make the world a more Googley place. We are looking for a Sales Engineer with excellent technical, communication and organizational skills to join our Enterprise sales team. You will work with the team to engage with sales prospects, understand and assess customer requirements, prepare and present demonstrations of Google products, and address technical questions that arise throughout the sales process. You should be a confident presenter with excellent presentation skills and the ability to persuasively present Google's product offering. In addition, you should feel comfortable working closely with our product, support, engineering, and sales teams. Responsibilities: * Prepares and delivers product messaging in an effort to highlight Google Geospatial products value proposition using techniques to include white board slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management and RFI response documents. * Works with team to identify and qualify sales opportunities, identifies key customer technical objections and develops the strategy to resolve technical impediments to closing sales transactions. Comfortable with rapid prototyping of specialized product demonstrations using web and related scripting/programming languages. * Make recommendations on integration strategies, platforms and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution providing abest practicea advice to customers to optimize Google Apps effectiveness. * Work with the sales account team, customer support, product management, engineering and professional services to identify and resolve product problems and deficiencies affecting pre and post sales customer satisfaction. * Travel more than 50% of the time to visit customers throughout the US. Minimum Qualifications: * BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience). Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical major. * 5 years experience serving in the capacity of a sales engineer or equivalent experience in a customer facing role to include working as a member of a professional services or systems engineering team. * In-depth knowledge of GIS technologies, including common data formats for vector, terrain and imagery data types, and GIS applications including ESRI, MapInfo, Oracle Spatial, ERDAS, PCI Geomatics, ER Mapper, etc. * Understanding of the essential enterprise networking concepts (DNS, TCP, proxies, DMZ), along with an understanding of network identity management systems to include SSO, SAML, LDAP, Kerberos and NTLM. * Conversant in Web 2.0 development platforms and solutions to include J2EE, Java servlets, javascript, HTML, ASP, CGI, Ajax, Flash, cookies and XML. Programming proficiency is important, with emphasis on ability to rapidly prototype specialized product demonstrations using any one of the following scripting/programming languages: Java, C#, Javascript, Python, Perl and/or Shell Scripting.
