Enterprise Storage (SAN) Engineer Job in Reston 20190, Virginia US

Realize the rewards of conquering a new challenge at Northrop Grumman Information Systems! A restricted program in Reston, Virginia, is looking for a senior-level Enterprise Storage Engineer. This individual will perform engineering of the Enterprise Storage Infrastructure to include occasional on-call response to incidents (e.g., outages, degraded service, or device/appliance failures) when escalated from Tier 2 Operations.
This Enterprise Storage Engineer will provide support for the engineering, management and maintenance of Enterprise Storage environments including backup infrastructure at multiple locations. The duties for this position will include but are not limited to the following.
• Daily Monitoring and health checks of the corporate storage and SAN infrastructure
• Initial set-up and configuration of the storage arrays, HSM, tape library and SAN switch environment
• Maintaining accurate documentation of the SAN environment
• Capacity planning and management
• Implementation of SAN connectivity and LUN provisioning for new requirements and requests for additional storage
• Troubleshooting any SAN-related issues
• Supporting and maintaining a Disaster Recovery Infrastructure utilizing array based replication technologies.

Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field and at least 10 years experience, 5 of which must involve working with storage networking architectures. Four additional years of related experience accepted in lieu of the degree. Candidate must have experience with large, heterogeneous, enterprise class storage solutions comprised of components from multiple industry-standard vendors. Candidate must have experience in design, installation, setup and administration, and capacity planning/management of an enterprise storage/backup infrastructure along with practical experience maintaining large heterogeneous environments.

This position requires a current and active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph. Candidates without this clearance will not be considered for the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with volume management and cluster services software (e.g., Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas Cluster Services) is a plus.
