Kelly Services is currently hiring for entry level agricultural workers in the Waialua and Kunia areas to provides seasonal support to routine corn functions during peak workloads. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Support all routine activities related to corn nurseries with primary responsibilities including a. Assist in transplanting operation/covering of plants b. Potting of seedlings c. Pollinate and shootbag plants d. Detassel e. Harvest f. Assist with routine data collection such as stand counts, pollination counts, and dates g. Assist with basic seed handling tasks: counting, cleaning, routine sorting h. Assist with miscellaneous tasks when instructed such as pot-filling and watering 2. Housekeeping a. Maintain clean work area and assist with organization of supplies, etc. b. Assist with clean-up of work area at the end of each shift c. Return all supplies (staplers, harvest belts, etc) to supervisor at the end of each shift 3. Safety a. Abide by all safety requirements b. Use and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND EXPERIENCE - Tolerance and ability to work in an outdoor tropical agriculture setting. - Ability to communicate, read, and interpret instructions in English - Ability to work with others in a team setting and of diverse cultural backgrounds and languages. - Flexibility to work weekends and/or holidays during seasonal peaks. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to carry 20 - 30 lbs of weight, repetitive use of wrists and hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. - The employee is repeatedly required to stand and walk and work on their feet for prolonged periods. - Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. - Adhere to all location and company policies and procedures Please note: Drug Background screenings are required.
