We have a client in Wixom, Michigan seeking an entry level engineer. This is an Application Engineer to support automotive programs in the engineering and sales group. The client engineer and sell spark plugs in the automotive (OEMs) industry. The parent company is from Japan. The client is looking for an entry level engineer with less than five years of experience. A recent graduate with a BS degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical areas) and Co-Op experience would be ideal. Salary range is 50 to 60K in base. Overall Job Description: Responsible for engineering and support sales for automotive accounts. Develop and maintain strong working relationship with customers. Assist in resolving customers technical, sales, and logistic problems and issues. Explain products and engineering specifications to the customer. Write trip, test, or contact reports for all customer visits and any contacts regarding critical issues. Negotiate design and process changes with customers. Collect and report detailed information on engineering defects and customer information. Advise on warranty reports. Assist customers in developing of drawings. Handle PPAP, PSW and other TS16949 requirements. Monitor customer website for plan t issues and supplier ratings and report critical events. Work with Technical Center personnel on testing and research. Perform extensive job-related travel. Adhere to all company policies and procedures and if applicable adhere to company policies relating to TS16949 and ISO14000.
