Entry Level Risk Opportunity in Asset Management *12 Months recruitment

Opportunity

To run key controls and processes within the risk department efficiently; including responsibility for communication lines, accuracy, timeliness and keeping processes up to date.

Key responsibilities
*Operate existing risk controls and processes over investment portfolios and specialist funds. Build new processes when applicable.
*Incorporate newly developed models and reports into ongoing processes, liaising with Investment Operations and the Front Office where appropriate
*Operate in-house valuation processes over derivatives, fixed income, equity and specialist loan products
*Ensure that controls and processes are properly documented, including the service levels and technical quality standards agreed with the business units.
*Deal with IS issues competently where relevant as and when they arise
*Be proficient in task and document organisation
*Become proficient in use of Algo Risk system and produce independent or market-sourced data from other in-house applications
*Build up good relationships with counterparty contacts and in-house clients (MAGIM, Pru Finance, PMG), and work closely with MAGIM Risk Analysis team.
*Build up a relevant level of Fixed Income, Equity and Derivative knowledge and how the products are used within the Risk environment

What we are looking for

Essential
*Ideally would suit someone with good administrative/analytical experience in a financial services environment.
*Aptitude for mathematics, preferably to A level
*Good analytical and problem solving skills.
*Approachable and confident in face to face interaction at all levels
*Methodical and thorough approach - ability to question/challenge results/benchmarking
*Can produce clear written communications
*Comfortable with computing systems: specifically Excel to a high standard
*Can work well within a small professional team

Desirable
*Solid administrative/analytical experience in a professional area within Investment Management
*IMC or equivalent (or willing to learn)
*Some knowledge/exposure to Derivative products
*Analytical degree or equivalent
*Comfortable with 'Straight-through' analytics eg. Analyse, Build, Test, Implement
