Environmental Engineer - Anchorage, AK

Job Description AECOM is seeking a highly motivated mid-level Environmental Engineer to work in our Anchorage, Alaska office. In this role, you'll assist with engineering and feasibility studies, design and implementation of civil/environmental projects, report writing, and soil and groundwater remediation systems. In addition, you will assist with collecting and evaluating environmental samples (soil, water, and air). Candidates should have a Bachelors degree in environmental, civil or chemical engineering as well as 6 to 8 years of environmental experience in industry or consulting. FE (EIT) certification is preferred. This position requires excellent skills in written and spoken communications, organization and time management. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn new skills, and a commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. The ideal candidate will also have good mechanical aptitude, remediation system design and construction experience and/or contaminated site investigation experience, and the ability to work both independently and as a part of a project team. Travel on single engine aircraft and working at remote sites throughout Alaska will be required. Key computer skills include MS Office Suite and basic skills in AutoCAD. 40 hr HAZWOPER training is desired. Candidate must be able to pass requirements of an OSHA screening physical. Advanced degree and/or PE registration a plus. GPS and light surveying experience a plus.
