Environmental Project Engineer Job in College Point, New York US

 

POSITION OUTLINE:

 

Posillico Environmental is seeking a self-motivated individual to work on complex large scale environmental remedial construction projects in New York City, Long Island and New Jersey. 

 

Job duties include:

 

·         Working with waste disposal facilities to gain approval for remedial waste.

·         Acting as a liaison between Posillico Environmental and the client.

·         Aiding project management with environmental remediation related issues.

·         Oversight of construction operations.

·         Interpretation of job specifications and Federal/State/Local regulations in order to accurately plan and understand the task at hand.

·         Collection of soil, groundwater and air samples; and interpretation of complex and detailed analytical results.

 

Technical duties include:

 

o   Tracking of remedial construction activities

o   Scheduling

o   Writing and developing technical proposals for prospective projects

o   Writing and developing waste management plans, site operations plans, material disposal plans, health and safety plans, contingency plans, field sampling plans, and quality control plans

 

Skill and Aptitude:

 

·         B.S. in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related discipline with 2-5 years relevant experience in environmental remedial design, implementation, and project oversight.

·         Candidate should have 40-Hour HAZWOPER (with current 8-Hour refresher training) and 10 or 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety training.  If necessary, Posillico can provide this training to the selected individual. 

·         Solid background in OSHA regulations and requirements for general construction and for remediation sites. 

·         Prior experience with personal air monitoring and health and safety data interpretation is a plus.

·         Strong knowledge of local and federal environmental regulation.

·         Specialized knowledge of New Jersey regulations is a plus.

·         Strong technical writing skills.

·         Prior experience overseeing construction projects is preferred.

·         Ability to work well with people that have no environmental background.

·         Ability to work alone, complete tasks in the required time and make quick educated decisions.

 

Travel:

 

Candidate must be willing to travel throughout the tri-state area.
