We are seeking an Environmental Safety Manager. The successful candidate for this position would reside at this location. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: * Develop, monitor and maintain environmental and safety business plans. * Ensure through management support and education that employees understand and accept responsibility for incorporating environmental quality in their conduct of business. * Handle Federal and State compliance and reporting for environmental and safety programs. * Ensure compliance with Navistar s Environmental and Safety Policies and Procedures. * As the ISO 14001 registered facility management representative, conduct internal audits, aspect/impact analysis, coordinate continual improvement meetings, management reviews, and employee training to maintain ISO certification status. * Lead all operational audits to ensure compliance and continual improvements with internal environmental and safety regulations, County and other applicable regulations. * Monitor new and proposed regulations and notify management of upcoming changes that could impact our organization. * Work with appropriate government organizations to develop and implement equitable and effective laws, rules regulations and policies. * Work with community and neighbors to foster a partnership relationship. * Manage waste disposal for regular waste streams and conduct regular waste analysis to determine compliance. * Develop subordinates by providing training, counseling, and appropriate rewards through the use of the TPM system. * Develop a partnership relationship with represented workforce * Compliance to Company EMS Policy * Performs related duties as required Position Purpose and Requirements: To provide a safe work environment for our employees through exceptional leadership in developing, supporting, communicating, promoting, maintaining, and executing world class Environmental and Safety (ES) strategies that are designed to provide unparalleled customer service and ensuring regulatory compliance. Basic Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree OR at least 8 years of environmental and safety experience * At least 6 years of environmental and safety experience * At least 1 year lead experience in manufacturing Additional Requirements: * An understanding of Air Quality, OSHA, NIOSH, DOT, EPA and NFPA regulations * Must be knowledgable of Clean Air Act-Title V Desired Skills: * Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety or related field preferred * Understanding of Air Quality, OSHA, NIOSH, DOT, EPA NFPA regulations as they pertain to manufacturing * Understanding of Indiana Workers Compensation desired * Previous foundry experience desired * Excellent communication skills * Excellent team building and collaborative skills * Project management experience Competencies: * Navistar's Positive Attitude * Background * Dealing with Ambiguity * Confronting Direct Reports * Timely Decision Making * Directing Others * Ethics and Navistar's Values * Functional/Technical Skills * Organizational Agililty * Problem Solving * Process Management Visit us at www.Navistar.com to discover more about our organization.
