Environmental Scientist Job in Milford Haven, Wales UK

RPS is looking for an enthusiastic candidate who wants to increase their experience and knowledge base within the environment and energy sectors, experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided in all elements of the works required.

Due to increased workload we require a Consultant to join our Environmental Protection and Compliance team based in Chepstow for an industrial placement in one of the largest and most advanced Liquefied Natural Gas facilities based predominantly in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire.

Although predominantly site based the successful candidate will work closely with staff in the Chepstow office to deliver a range of services to the client covering various environmental disciplines.

The site has over 150 employees and requires comprehensive environmental management support. The candidate will be a key team member and be responsible for monitoring all aspects of the client’s environmental activities, which are essential for the successful operation of the business.

The successful candidate will work as part of our Client’s Environmental Quality Team in providing environmental services for the whole site.

A brief summary of the role is as follows:-

                Primary

§         Day to day responsibility for site environmental interactions

§         Environmental monitoring, reporting and analysis

§         Maintaining knowledge of current and future environmental legislation

§         Enthusiasm is essential if experience is minimal

 

                Secondary (to be supported through discipline based staff in Chepstow)

§         Good understanding of environmental issues related to planning

§         Compliance auditing, due diligence auditing and waste auditing

§         Environmental Permitting experience / understanding (Application Site Condition Reports, EPOPRA, BAT assessments etc)

§         Environmental systems development and implementation to ISO14001: 2004

This is an excellent opportunity to obtain an in depth experience in a wide variety of environmental issues including direct liaison with environmental regulators and the client’s senior management team whilst working with one of the UK’s major energy providers.
