.   Loan Structuring Underwriting
• Provide deal structuring expertise.
• Collaborate with relationship managers to generate ideas, identify client solutions, and deliver timely solutions.
• Actively manage client solution opportunities to identify cross-selling opportunities within portfolios.
• Operate as key member of the deal team to prospective clients with efforts to maximize penetration and returns.
• Institute cross-selling initiatives to increase ranking with client.
• Provide underwriting expertise in all categories or complexity of transactions; apply expert analytics and guidance in required structuring and terms in order to balance the risk and rewards of the transaction in attempt to win the business.
• Provide guidance/oversight to analysts and associates.
• Provide expertise and guidance in negotiating and documenting transactions with clients within the context of the deal team.
• Maintain awareness of all firm products and services offered and facilitate means of receiving continuous updates.

B.  Financial Performance and Analysis/Portfolio Management
• Proactive, ongoing dialogue with borrowers within assigned portfolio to keep abreast of ongoing dynamics of the underlying business within the portfolio.
• Conduct detailed analysis of borrower’s financials; scan and assess economic/external environment for issues impacting the borrower to proactively recognize trends and actively manage portfolio; balance goals to maximize return and credit quality.
• Prepare/oversee preparation of concise, well reasoned credit correspondence.
• Obtain credit concurrence as client advocate.
• Help to monitor overall team portfolio performance (i.e. not just accounts that PM is assigned to but a broader monitoring of portfolio performance).

C.  Management of Internal Resources and Credit Approval Process Team
• Effectively orchestrate the appropriate resources (across other segments/LOBs) or other internal resources to meet the needs of the client and to ensure appropriate structure/process in place to achieve credit concurrence for final approval.
• Effectively manage work flow of analysts by aligning tasks with departmental goals and objectives.
• Aide RM’s in developing targeted strategies and translating them in to financing guidelines or directives to achieve Credit support to implement strategy.
• Remain current on financing trends in target client markets, and communicate same to team members.  On going professional development is critical to success in this competitive market place.
• Lead team to success by capturing opportunities for ongoing mentoring, coaching, and career development of analysts and associates.

Knowledge:
• An undergraduate degree.  Focal areas of finance, economics, or accounting preferred.
• CPA or MBA or equivalent experience preferred in finance, accounting or business law.
• 7 - 10 years of relevant experience in negotiating and structuring financial transactions. 5-6 years professional leasing credit/management experience
• Formal credit training evolving and increasing history of lending authority.
• Proven, expert level credit analysis experience/ understanding.
• In-depth knowledge of the organizational lending and portfolio management policies and objectives.

• Exceptional credit/analytical skills and ability to apply them creatively; ability to “think outside the box”.
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to write clear, concise and cogent credit correspondence.
• Excellent capability to independently and proactively service multiple clients and effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to develop non-standard ideas to bring to management around debt capacity analysis, complex financial modeling, and net working capital analysis.
• Ability to apply tactics/pitches that are scalable and can be leveraged across multiple clients within the portfolio
• Proven abilities in leadership and coaching skills; ability to motivate others.
• Ability to advocate persuasively.
• Excellent abilities in managing relationships and cross-selling success.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
• Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools including MS Excel.  Strong proficiency in other Microsoft Office products and the Internet
