Equipment Operator II

 

Position Summary:

Local role reporting to the Site Manager.  Responsible for operating Dyno Nobel trucks and specialty equipment to deliver ANFO and explosive products to customers.

Essential Functions:

1.  Drive/operate straight bed vehicles over public roads in order to move or deliver explosive products to company or customer sites in a timely and safe manner.

2.  Drive and operate bulk/blend truck in order to prepare and deliver quality ANFO products to customer sites.

3.  Operate and perform maintenance on straight, ANFO, and dewatering trucks (or less), deliver and off load product within DN HS Management System procedures and practices.

4.  Calibrate equipment, calculate fuel percentages and check emulsion density.

5.  Load and unload all trucks, and maintain magazines, sites and inventories.

6.  Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions in the shop, while operating equipment and while on blast sites in order to protect personal safety and safety of others.

Other duties may be assigned within the capabilities of the successful candidate, as determined by management.

Internal Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.  24-36 months of mechanical, commercial driving, explosives or related experience required.  Must satisfy requirements for "possessor of explosives" as defined by BATF.  Must acquire and maintain all appropriate licenses (Class A, CDL, etc) required by federal, state, and county entities.  Must be able to read, write, and speak English, and communicate in writing and verbally.  Must be at least 21 years of age.
