� Job Description: Equity Derivatives Middle Officer
�
The Middle Office provides operational support for the Equity Derivatives Front Office. �The candidate will perform reconciliations, various controls and checks, be heavily involved in the China QFII workflow, and develop macros as and when the situation demands it for greater efficiency for the team
�
General Tasks
�
- Cross-system reconciliation of daily trades and positions between various FO capture systems (Sophis, Client TOMS, Valuta, Summit). Products include equities, listed options, futures, OTC options, IRS, FX, NDFs, structured products
- Reconciliation of daily trades vs. source documents (Termsheets, broker confirmations, �e-mail confirmations)
- Report breaks to FO in a timely and accurate fashion
- Prepare daily cancelled and amended trades report
- Monitor trade lifecycle events (expiries, fixings, corporate actions)
- Setup of ELNs in trade capture systems
- Following up on FO margin repatriations and injections
- Manage Taiwan Limits Communication/cash position check
- Work closely with BO, Product Control, Compliance, Business Management to resolve issues
- Respond to ad hoc FO requests

QFII:

- Manage allocation communication between custodian and traders
- Prepare Multiple Ticket Entries (MTE) for front office booking in trading systems (Client/SOPHIS)
- Send client confirmations on executed trades
- Reconcile Bank cash position with custodian
- Generate/Check/ Send QFII quota report
- Manage client holdings and cash reports generation
- Manage corporate action events on client QFII portfolios (monitoring/client notification/ MTE preparation)
- Manage P Note issuance/warehouse database; upsize and ISIN funging events
- Reconcile custodian and internal holdings records
- Generate/send P Note valuations
- Euroclear position reconciliation
- Capital Gains Tax computation/reconciliation

Database and Macro management:
�
- Developing tools for MO use whenever necessary
- Drafting user guides (functional and technical) of all developments
- Management of MS Access databases currently in use (query handling/ table setup/ user-access / data-integrity)
- Maintenance of data pages (QFII Client Positions, Warehoused P Notes)
- Maintenance of QFII recognized/unrecognized capital gains tax tools; QFII quota available per client
- Data mining from various file formats of previous reports
- Outlook macro automation and programming (for auto-sending/ processing of incoming mail/ template sending)
- Maintenance of the Bank (Excel-Client Automatic Tool)
- Operational support for sales/traders on various issues, including: SOPHIS-Excel (Riskcom VBA) Support, Client IBEP15 page; Volatility Matrix

Essential Skills for Tasks:
- Strong familiarity with Excel (Basic and advanced functions and shortcuts)
- Basic SQL knowledge and integration to Excel/Outlook
- Strong Excel VBA, Outlook VBA, Access VBA programming experience
- Knowledge of Client API/ functionality with Excel integration
- Good understanding of Data Mining of multiple formats/ efficient data storage
- Experience in Shell Programming/Adobe Acrobat Integration is a big plus
- Previous experience in an Operations function highly desirable
- Problem-solving ability; attention-to-detail;� high levels of accuracy
- Proactive in improving workflows, processes
