EQUITIES IT MANAGER – SET NEW STANDARDS WITHIN CAPITAL MARKETS recruitment
On behalf of our client, a European tiered bank, we are recruiting an Equities IT Manager, who will manage a team of 12 exceptionally skilled individuals. It is an international team with competences in both business and IT. The team is trusted with the responsibility for a key platform, and will leverage the best talent in the market to deliver through a pro-active, responsive and client-first approach.
Equities IT is a section within Securities IT, which in turn is a part of the bank’s Capital Markets IT group, providing trading and risk solutions to Capital Markets Products and delivering IT services, primarily to the Equities Front Office. Securities IT provides top class IT solutions to support the Equities and Fixed Income divisions of Capital Markets, front to back. The division is going through a period of intense change, implementing new best-of-breed systems and consolidating some of the existing platforms in order to meet the requirements and exceed the expectations of the bank’s Capital Markets group.
IT plays a major role as an enabler for the business to remain profitable and service the customers. This is achieved by a close partnership with the business, understanding their models, goals and requirements; all while staying ahead of the competition on technology.
You will be managing a team of 12 experienced and skilled individuals across the region, and you are in charge of development and maintenance of a portfolio of applications used by the Equities business, mainly by the Front Office.
In your role, you will be a member of various steering groups and part of the Securities IT management team.
We expect that you have managerial experience and you are capable of establishing good relations with your employees, colleagues and partners in business. In addition, you have a great personal drive, are extroverted, proactive and know how to utilise the different competencies in your team. You excel under pressure, have a flexible mindset and enjoy a constantly changing environment.
You have previous experience from the equities industry and strong technical skills, preferably including areas like low latency trading and algorithmic trading in an Investment Bank or similar. Your mix of business and IT skills allow you to be equally comfortable speaking to the head of equity trading as the head of IT infrastructure.
To be successful in this role, you will truly need to be a driver of change, ensuring exceptionally short turnaround time of deliveries – large and small. The business operates in an environment that is measured in seconds down to microseconds, and they rely on your ability to deliver IT services to match that.
Background and experience from project- or programme management is an advantage. Knowledge of Sungard Front Arena is an advantage.
