Equity Analyst – Global Long Short Hedge Fund – Consultants, Bankers, Sell Side professionals sought recruitment
Our client is a leading US hedge fund. One of the best known firms in the world, and with an exceptional reputation, they make long, short and long only investments in companies globally. A significant inflow of assets, together with solid returns over the last twelve months, has generated a need to add an Equity Research Analyst.
The role
Working for a Partner, your brief will be to generate buy and sell side ideas for the Portfolio Managers for the fund. This will involve carrying out extensive research and analysis on both macro and micro issues..
- detailed financial analysis of companies
- financial modelling and valuations
- bottom up fundamental investment review
- preparation of investment case memorandum
- visiting company managemen
- identification of investment opportunities
They are interested in meeting someone with a background as follows:
- Strategy consultant, investment banking, sell or buy side equity analysts with 3 - 6 years experience
- Oxford/ Cambridge/ Durham academics background, perhaps and MBA from one of the top business schools
- Excellent mathematical background
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Currently with a blue chip name such as Goldman, McKinsey, Bain
Candidates are likely to be at the 'Senior Analyst' or ‘Associate’ level’ or similar in their current role and be happy carrying out detailed financial analysis and modelling
