Equity Analyst-Technology, Engineering and Electronics

This is a demanding entry-level role,joining a team high skilled analyst and will give the opportunity for the successful candidate to contribute from day one and to take on additional responsibilities over time.

The successful candidate will be expected to
• Act as an industry expert, able to explain new technologies, fundamental trends, drivers of earnings and returns.
• Perform analysis on small and mid-cap companies with specific focus on Europe, Japan, Asia and Emerging Markets and take responsibility for investment performance of the fund in those sectors, alongside the portfolio managers.
• Regular screening work to highlight areas of change and identify the most promising investments.
• Prepare detailed research reports on company products, business models and prospects.
• Analyse company accounts to create a financial model and forecast.
• Participate in marketing and client service meetings as required.

 

The successful candidate will have the following profile:

• Excellent academics (2:1 or above or international equivalent)in a technology-related, science or engineering field (maths, physics,engineering backgrounds considered), exposure to industry experience in those fields an advantage
• 1-2 years previous experience in an equity research, company analysis, chartered accountancy or consulting role.
• Analytical, methodical and highly numerate
• A working knowledge of accounting and financial statements would be an advantage
• A proven interest in travel, languages and other cultures
• Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
• Reliable, determined, hardworking and ambitious
• Well-read and intellectually curious
