Equity Capital Market Analyst recruitment

Job Specification

The successful candidate will be part of a team of equity capital market (ECM) professionals analysing primary and secondary ECM deals for a unique information product used in investment banks, law firms and professional service firms. The candidate will need to be able to demonstrate knowledge in ECM and in particular be familiar with ECM specific offer types. Excellent research skills are essential, along with the ability to maintain and develop relationships with existing and new clients.

Key Responsibilities

In-depth analysis of UK equity capital market deals in regards of their structure, commercial and financial deal specific information and general company information based on deal documentation

Processing and entry of the ECM deal analysis into a proprietary database within defined timelines

Producing email alerts for new capital raising announcements and weekly market updates within a specified timeframe

Presentation and training of new and existing clients of a unique UK equity capital market information product

Managing and prioritising client requests and providing solutions in a timely fashion

Pro-actively contact clients according to departmental guidelines to conduct client research and receive targeted feedback

Responsible for ongoing and special project initiatives as defined by management

Producing market statistics for ECM reports using MS Excel as analysis tool

Minimum requirements

Legal practice course (LPC) or minimum 2.1 in a BSc/BA degree in finance or economics

Working knowledge of equity capital market primary and secondary deals

Strong analytical and numerical skills

Excellent command of English in written and verbal form

Excellent knowledge of MS Office, in particular advanced knowledge of MS Excel, working knowledge of databases

Quick and independent learner, paying attention to detail and yet being able to multi task in a fast-paced environment working towards tight deadlines

Familiarity with and a keen interest in financial markets

The following attributes would be desirable

Experience as ECM analyst in an investment bank, law firm or professional service firm

One or more foreign languages
