Equity Capital Markets (ECM)
Equity Capital Markets (ECM) acts as the global equity product specialist and is the intermediary between advisory, equity research, equity sales and equity trading. ECM is responsible for the origination, structuring, syndication and execution of equity-related issues and provides equity advice on a range of advisory transactions for corporate clients. ECM's core products include initial public offerings (IPOs), rights issues, accelerated book builds, block trades, pre-IPO financing and corporate broking solutions. ECM also includes product specialists for convertible bonds, exchangeable bonds and certain types of pre-IPO financing.
HSBC ECM bankers works very closely with investment bankers and other product teams to ensure complete financing and advisory solutions are achieved for our clients. HSBC ECM bankers offer specialist product knowledge and geographical reach with dedicated ECM teams located in London, Paris, Germany, Dubai, Hong Kong, Mumbai, New York, and Singapore
We are now inviting qualified individuals to join the team as an Equity Capital Markets Associate.
In this role, you will:
- Work on Southeast Asia based projects with guidance from senior bankers within the team, assisting on both origination and syndication side
- Assist in the preparation of deal-related and non-deal related marketing material including creating pitch/ - marketing material for client meetings
- Perform various desk top research for multiple sectors and topics
- Analyze current market trends (economic and equity focused), globally, Asia and Southeast Asia
- Analyze companies that are looking to access the equity capital markets through an IPO, FO or Convertible
- Assist in drafting economic and market commentary on a weekly basis
- Remain flexible and committed to tasks during tight deadlines
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- 1st class honours from a reputable university, preferably from economics, accounting, finance, business or law.
- 3 – 5 years previous experience in an investment bank, preferably prior ECM experience
- Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work in a time-sensitive environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent PC skills; advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
