Equity Derivatives – Application Developer Lead Engineer (VP Level) recruitment
Super strong, hands on technical lead for a green field project to develop a derivatives trade back-store. The solution is the foundation of the Pyramid transaction service next generation. It will provide a high-performance store for transaction data using innovative technologies as well as the new development framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with subject matter experts to ensure that the solution meets business needs.
- Build a stable, efficient, scalable cloud based solution which will be deployed globally.
- Design and code a significant amount of a robust, secure and efficient API to persist / retrieve data and implement the business logic
- Integrate the back-store in a testable, supportable framework that will scale in the production environment and require minimum operate costs.
- Report progress to senior management. Good communication skills will be paramount.
Essential skills:
- Typically 10 years hands-on experience and recognized expert on Java, C# and C++. The candidate must be able to answer the toughest questions on these languages.
- Deep understanding of the mechanisms behind large-scale distributed systems, including low-level considerations.
- Very pro-active , delivery focus , strong experience on Agile programming
- Very good knowledge of one or several scripting languages (Python, Perl, Ruby .etc.)
- Strong OO design skills with in-depth knowledge of object modelling and design patterns.
- Computer science background with an intellectual rigour
- Relational database experience; ideally Sybase/SQL.
- Experience of messaging e.g. AMQ, Tibco .etc.
- Ability to solve complex problems and a proven track record of high performance and delivery
- Understanding of derivatives products.
- Strong communication and team-working skills including mentoring.
Desirable skills:
- Experience of working in financial services, in a front-office environment.
- Exposure to NoSQL systems (Cassandra, MongoDB .etc.)
- Agile development techniques
Education
- To degree level, ideally in a computer science, mathematical or engineering disciplin
