Equity Derivatives Application Support, Associate recruitment

Strong focus on client service and an understanding of the time sensitive nature of the Production environment is essential. Very strong interest in Derivatives-related businesses is also needed as it is a high-visibility role involving building relationships with not only traders, sales and middle-office users, but also with the local development team and other teams. The support team are located on the Equity Trading Floor.

Responsibilities:

• First line user support and resolution of issues in the production environment

• Accurate incident reporting and management, adherence to change control procedures for system releases and other changes

• Ownership of issues from detection to resolution, including root cause analysis and if necessary creation of requests for the development team

Requirements:

• Degree holder or above

• Fluent written and spoken English

• Knowledge of Japanese is a plus, but not mandatory

• Diligent, able to follow, maintain and enhance existing written procedures

• Flexible and self-starter, able to diagnose and troubleshoot application problems

• Organized, able to evaluate and manage priorities, able to handle ever-changing environment

• Punctual and reliable

• Proactive, able to suggest ideas for improvements and to pinpoint potential issues

Experience:

• 2+ years experience of Derivatives IT, 2+ years of trading floor support

• 3rd Party or in-house derivative risk system

• Orc or similar execution platform

Technical and Business Skills:

• Unix system tools and scripting / Windows shell scripting

• SQL (IBM UDB, Sybase, MS-SQL, Oracle)

• Autosys

• Products – stocks, futures, options, equity swaps, variance swaps, structured products

• Market Data – basic understanding Reuters or Bloomberg

• Basic understanding of PL calculation, greeks and PL attribution
