Equity Exotic and Hybrids Structurer
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are working with a top investment bank that is looking to hire a structurer in their complex equity and fund linked product business in London. The team is one of the very best equity derivatives team in the market in terms of revenues, platform and franchise. This role will be working alongside both the traders and quants in the structuring of highly innovative and complex equity trades. This involve developing and pricing of structured equity products and quantitative trading strategies for institutional clients (hedge funds, pension funds, asset managers, insurance companies and retail investors). Another focus on the role will be engineering bespoke solutions for clients seeking to hedge or capture specific market exposures using a multitude of structured products including volatility and correlation products, dispersion, variable annuities and structured notes. The final major focus of the role will be to liaise with internal trading desks to identify existing risk exposures that need to be restructured and develop offsetting trades between different client types to assist trading desk with risk reduction.
The ideal candidate will be working at a top tier equity derivative house and be at VP level. The team is renowned for being at the forefront of innovation within the equity derivative space and as part of that for being one of the strongest technically in the market. As a result they are looking for candidates who have incredibly strong technical skill sets and academic pedigrees. The hire is likely to be at VP level but there is definite interest in associates, directors and (potentially) MD’s. We expect the successful candidate will have 4-9 years’ experience in the space. Due to the nature of the role and group, they are looking for candidates who combine a very strong technical skill set with strong commercial acumen.
Requirements
- 4-9 years’ experience in complex equity structuring
- A background in structuring highly complex equity derivatives leading to an excellent commercial and technical understanding of the markets.
- Excellent technical skill set, typically educated to MSc / PhD level in a highly quantitative subject at a top tier University.
- Working in a market leading team in the equity derivative space.
This is not a client facing role and the group is not interested in those from a marketing/sales nor legal background.
