Description
An equity portfolio manager is responsible for all aspects of the management of several mutual fund wrap and unified managed account (UMA) platforms, which may include commingled funds, mutual funds, stand-alone accounts, and exchange traded funds (ETFs). Specific responsibilities of the Equity Portfolio Manager include: Coordination of portfolio changes; Generate trades; Maintain portfolio composition by monitoring individual security and sector deviations from index. Rebalance portfolios when necessary and during index reconstitution; Manage cash and currencies and/or exposure level; Monitor compliance with investment guidelines and objectives; Manage tax liability in taxable portfolios; Provide attribution analysis for tracking error; Analyze corporate actions and propose elections; Assess index change impacts, and propose trading strategies; and Document and maintain procedures used by the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5-10 years experience in finance related field, CFA / CAIA / MBA other advanced designations preferred
- Good understanding of equity, derivatives, and currency markets
- Must possess strong knowledge of investment terminology and analytic methods
- Good spreadsheet skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking
- Strong organizational skills
