Morgan Stanley is looking for strong Associate to join the Commodities Strategy team in the New York office. The role involves building and maintaining models, as well as writing research notes and industry pieces. The team is looking for strong analytical candidates, with a passion for Research.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creation and maintenance of industry and supply-demand models leveraging skills in statistics, finance and economics
• Research and write reports with a sector or commodity-specific focus
• Respond to requests for data, information and calls from internal and external clients
• Keep abreast of industry-related news flow
• Regular interaction with equity and commodity sales force
• Understand the nuances of the industry

Skills Required

• Research or Finance/Economics background required
• Strong financial skills, including at least 1-2 years of analytical experience.
• Key skills required include financial modeling, statistics, industry and product analysis, and report writing
• Candidate must possess exceptional quantitative abilities, strategic perspective, and written/verbal communication skills

Skills Desired

Skills Desired • 1 to 2 years sell or buy side research experience or investment banking • Excel/VBA programming experience a plus
