Equity Research Analyst recruitment

Fidelity Worldwide Investment is an asset manager serving investors in all corners of the world outside North America. It was established in 1969 and manages all significant asset classes for institutional and retail investors in long-term savings products.

Purpose of your role:
The principle responsibility of the Research Analyst is to make investment recommendations to Portfolio Managers based on in-depth analysis which will include:-
•       Industry analysis.
•       Company specific analysis.
•       Supply chain and competitor analysis.
•       Financial modelling and projection.
•       Valuation analysis.

Our analysts undertake extensive research at all levels of an organisation to understand exactly how they are positioned to deliver for investors. We believe it’s only through this first-hand contact, rather than relying purely on bought-in research, that we can fully evaluate an investment’s true potential, and consistently add value for investors in our funds.

Your key accountabilities:
You will be responsible for researching and analysing stocks and companies in one or more sectors, and making written and verbal recommendations to Portfolio Managers. 

•       Responsible for researching a given number of stocks using a variety of research and investment techniques.
•       Writing research notes and making buy or sell recommendations.
•       Arranging and running company meetings.
•       Attending relevant group meetings and sharing investment ideas.
•       Communicating ideas and knowledge to Portfolio Managers regularly.

Your skills and experience:
We seek candidates who are highly motivated, comfortable taking risks, who are independent thinkers and intellectually curious.  You will have excellent financial analysis skills, good business judgement and solid communication skills.  As well as the above we look for candidates with the following:-

•       Outstanding academic track record (ideally MBA and a minimum 2:1 or equivalent at undergraduate level)
•       Already achieved or studying towards the CFA. 
•       Excellent numerical / analytical skills.
•       Demonstrable interest in the equity markets.
•       Clear interest in investment management.
•       Enthusiasm for companies.
•       Self starter – shows initiative.
