Experienced Trade Support Analyst required to join our within the GSE (Global Synthetic Equity) SPG Swaps Operations function, specifically the Trade Support team which acts as the first point of contact for the Index, Equity Finance and Single stock (swaps) trading desks. Fundamentally the role involves ensuring the timely and accurate capture of trade data within the risk management system, being the most integral part of the trade process flow. The team has day-to-day interaction with the Front Office, other Operations’ areas, BUC, Credit Risk, Market Risk and IT in solving complex problems.
The successful candidate will be supporting the single stock flow (Portfolio and total return swaps) but in future may have the opportunity to rotate into the other Trade Support teams covering the Index or Equity Finance desks. They will be expected to be very adept at picking up new processes and procedures. Over the first 3 months the candidate will be expected to have a good understanding of the risk management system and the front to back processes for these products enabling competent managing and escalation of risk issues. This will be achieved through on the job training and also educational courses with regard to improving their technical knowledge. Diligence, accuracy, teamwork, risk awareness/understanding and being able to cope in a high pressure environment is important. Ability to effectively time manage is also essential.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Support of the EMEA Single Stock Swap flow, facing off to the GSE Trading Desk, Sales and Account Management teams.
- Desk and client point of contact for all swap trades, encompassing booking out of new swaps, trade cycle management of existing positions, and the responsibility of expiring and rolling positions.
- Control of risk management via the maintenance of reconciliation’s and checking of sensitivity and PnL reports intra-day and end of day.
- Solving complex problems and acting as an interface to the Business, Ops and BUC to ensure all client needs are met in an efficient manner.
- Acting as the face off/key contact to the desk for all operational issues/queries.
- Mini projects to improve the efficiency of day to day processes and control
Innovative candidates are encouraged due to the large scope for introducing new ideas to improve the procedures and processes within the team and eliminate waste.
Requirements:
- Previous experience of complex Swaps with a good understanding of PL and Risk from an Investment Banking environment.
- Fund product knowledge combined with Front Office facing and Derivatives experience.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Ability to identify control gaps with a control minded approach to develop solutions.
- Strong MS Excel skills. VBA level desirable
- Ability to co-ordinate and consolidate information from multiple sources.
- Organised mindset with strong planning and analytical skills
