Position Overview: The Business Analyst will be responsible for transforming the business processes and systems in the area of Inventory, Warehouse, and Transportation Management across Ingersoll Rand. This role will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise, strong analytics, and process development to enable premier performance in inventory management. Part of a global cross-functional core team, SMARTransformation, this position will work with all IR locations around the world to design and implement best practice business processes. Particular focus will be on lean thinking, process standardization, and data leverage to enable standardized business solutions balancing process, systems, and data.
In this role, the individual will be responsible establishing or extending relationships with the extended business teams (all sectors and all regions) to transform process designs:
- Analyze: Understand and document the current processes, benchmark current landscape
- Standardize and Design: Leverage lean practices to develop best-in-class processes, establish standard processes, and integrate with systems design. Develop business cases for transformation opportunities.
- Build: Integrate with configuration teams to ensure alignment between data, systems, and processes
- Deploy: Lead deployment efforts to ensure buy-in from all levels of the organization. See through stabilization efforts, hand off standardized processes, and iterate to further businesses
The Business Analyst will be expected to accomplish these results by:
- Engaging a global cross-functional team
- Facilitating current state (as-is) process mapping
- Participating in future state value stream mapping sessions
- Identifying data requirements and gaps
- Defining Key Performance Indicators
- Coordinating quality assurance reviews
- Building an enterprise repository
- Understanding current metrics
- Defining new reporting needs
- Testing and deploying solutions
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Design quality future state business process design for Ingersoll Rand.
- Participate with a group of process owners, stakeholders, project team members and IT team members to develop high performing enterprise business processes.
- Recommend, change, and integrate business models and processes to support the future state of the organization.
- Analyze and document processes and develop future business capabilities to ensure the realization of corporate strategies, across all IR sectors and regions.
- Design key metrics and measures associated with the future state business process, including measures of success, operational metrics, and compliance metrics.
- Integrate process design plans into the overall SMARTransformation program plan to ensure that process design is completed timely, in the midst of ambiguity regarding the program plan, the integration needs, etc. .
- Validate data quality and establish data libraries
- Work with IT core team to ensure alignment between business functional process designs and technical requirements.
- Develop and document supporting business process information for purposes of decision-making, consistency, and alignment (i.e., organizational direction, terminology, business rules).
- Test solutions in SIT and UAT phases of deployment. Be an advocate for getting things right the first time.
- Develop work instructions to hand-over processes to business teams.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide input into the continuous process improvement of the business process methodology to support effective enterprise process documentation standardization.
- Serve as a supporting member for the design, development and implementation of the enterprise business process governance framework.
- Serve as an advocate for the enterprise business process model repository, including the visibility and usage across the enterprise
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have 3-5 years of experience in functional management and/or cross-functional process design. This experience must include integration of business processes across the enterprise and inventory management.
- Ability to solve complex enterprise-wide business problems to determine solutions that will yield expected business results through integrated high performing business processes
- Ability to design innovate processes (processes not currently established within Ingersoll Rand)
- Effective communication skills (both oral and written).
- Detail-driven process orientation.
- Strong analytical skills. Must be able to drive decisions utilizing data
- Proven experience in quality assurance reviews of major enterprise-level business process models
- Passion for continuous improvement
- BS/BA degree. Engineering major preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with manufacturing companies is preferred.
- 3 - 5 years of project management experience
- Specific training in process excellence such as business process management, reengineering, or process improvement.
- Knowledge of Oracle e-Business Suite (preferably R12) or other ERP systems, with hands-on working experience with Purchasing modules. Experience with direct and indirect purchasing, shipping, inventory, supplier portals, and supplier and item masters. Knowledge of other modules considered a plus.
- Certification and/or experience with process improvement methodologies (ex: Six Sigma, Lean)
