We are seeking a Solution Architect for the Enterprise Service Bus team. The Solution Architect is accountable for the value delivered to the enterprise through standards-based design and development and implementation of Enterprise Services in accordance with the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) design principles.
The ESB Solution Architect will be responsible for following:
- Provide business and technology strategy, planning and management by leveraging knowledge in both technical and business areas
- Work with the business and development teams to create the vision and road map for the development of enterprise services as we move towards a full Service Oriented Architecture.
- Work with the product and project teams to analyze and understand business and application drivers to determine service implementation requirements
- Analyze technology industry and market trends and determine impact on the enterprise
- Participates with Enterprise Architecture in the development, publication, maintenance and governance of enterprise information architecture through SOA implementation standards and conventions, tools and platform standards
- Work closely with other architects and development teams focusing on identifying and justifying potential investments in new systems and technologies, including proof-of-concept pilots, reference implementations, vendor and partner evaluations
- Create models and patterns for the blueprint/roadmaps; review application designs and code for performance and adherence to standards
- Provides leadership in the design and development of the conceptual, logical and physical service models to meet the business requirements
- Establish policies and procedures for service security maintenance and utilization in the development, testing, training and production environment across all platforms
Education/Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering, MS preferred.
- 10+ years of application integration architecture experience
- 8+ years experience implementing and maintaining all functions of middleware systems
- 4+ years of Health/Managed care experience
- Outstanding communication skills, ability to ability to influence business and technology partners to align architecture vision implementation with overall program goals
- Extensive experience working in a matrixed project delivery environment
- Ability to monitor overall standards/procedures and assist in integrating various systems
- Deep knowledge of middleware technology capabilities, tools, and design patterns
- Knowledge of all components of middleware messaging technology high-availability environment
- Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture design
- Strong understanding of integration technologies and related standards (XML)
- Strong experience with WebSphere MQ; WebSphere message broker and WebSphere DataPower
- Experience with WebSphere Registry and Repository (WSRR) a plus
- Business domain experience in health care is desirable but not required. Experience with managed-care information systems such as TriZetto's Facets is a major plus.
- Experience with BPMS products like IBM Process Server is a plus
- Strong facilitator; ability to consult with users to determine requirements and recommends service establishment and utilization
- Generally requires 8 to 12 years of directly related professional experience and possess deep technical abilities in one or more primary products, programs or technologies.
- Strong experience in IT production support and development environment.
- Capable of making proper decisions under pressure.
- Ability to make timely, sound decisions by taking into account several sources of information.
- Strongly innovative and able to identify and implement ideas for making improvements within existing processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills: able to develop and maintain strong relationships with other teams and team members including engineering, development, and support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with offshore and blended development teams
- Well versed in the architecture, concepts, and tenants of ESB and SOA
- Strong familiarity with healthcare EDI regulatory requirements (HIPAA)
- Familiarity with health plan operations and administrative functions a plus
- Familiarity with Blue Cross/Blue Shield regulatory requirements (BlueExchange) a plus
