Estate Management Lead

My client is looking for an experienced Manager with a core understanding of, Asset Configuration Management, Software Licence Management, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Management; with particular experience relating to vendor and product management.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

- To lead a team of geographically diverse colleagues within the Distribution and Estate Management tower
- Planning, Design and Development of systems and processes to ensure licensing across the Windows platform is clearly understood and that the best cost is obtained for new requirements and reuse is evidenced where appropriate
- Driving tools processes to ensure all assets managed by Global Technology Infrastructure and services are correctly recorded in the Bank’s Configuration management Database
- Working collaboratively with other departments to ensure that the asset lifecycle processes are fit for purpose and allow additions, moves and changes to be accurately reflected in the Banks toolset
- Technical contribution to strategic solutions for the management of Windows assets and software
- Ensuring a standard Disaster Recovery approach and methodology exists and is adopted for all appropriate components.

Key Accountabilities approximate time split (%)

Team Management (40%):
- Manage the allocation of resources against the planned levels of demand - time, cost and specification.
- Recruitment of resources required to meet existing and known future demands for delivering against planned goals and objectives of Distribution Estate Management Team
- Ensuring appropriate key measures and performance indicators are in place to enable progress to be exhibited against performance targets across Distribution Estate Management service delivery goals
- Compliance to all regulatory, risk and audit requirements and personal leadership on all related matters
- Ensuring that your team is fully conversant and aligned to deliver against the strategy and plans of Distribution Estate Management Team and End User Technology
- Responsible for performance review and management of all direct reports

Licence Approach Management (20%):
- Investigate document the current Microsoft, Citrix and common software licence models in place across Client and Server
- Work with vendors and stakeholders to understand the current cost model and charging models for the software in place
- Work with Vendor Management to ensure the best model is employed by Barclays to drive cost benefit and licence reuse
- Document licence lifecycle and ensure procurement, management and reuse policies are embedded and driving value
- Work with Solutions Engineering and projects to drive the software licensing models for newly approved products and future roadmaps

Asset Configuration Management (20%):
- Drive the activity required to ensure that Distribution and Estate Management can provide a data feed into the Bank’s CMDB of all data required to operate the key ITIL disciplines of Incident, Change, Problem Configuration Management
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure the asset lifecycle processes capture all required data as assets are installed, changed or removed from the estate.
- Work collaboratively with areas across Global Technology Infrastructure and services to ensure the quality of our asset data is at its highest, and that any data inaccuracies are remediated through process engineering

Disaster Recovery Business Continuity Management (20%)
- Lead the strategy and role model industry standard behaviour, principles and frameworks.
- Design measurements for Disaster Recovery to assess preparedness and ensure system recoverability.

Applicants will be expected to have:

Essential:
- Experience managing teams and dealing with HR responsibilities
- Experienced people leader who develops at all levels, managing performance consequences accordingly
- Plan effectively resources and budget according to HR and finance business processes; experienced at recruiting staff
- Can describe rationale for major IT initiatives and identify major IT issues

Preferable:
- Experience of Microsoft, VMware, Adobe Citrix Licence Options and Implementation
- Previous experience of working with Microsoft, VMware, Adobe Citrix licence environments
- Understanding of the different licence models employed and the benefits/features of each
Proficient in Windows Configuration tools processes
- The implementation and management of infrastructure platforms or components that host specific business applications or services.
- Familiar with Infrastructure Architecture
- The frameworks and principles on which networks, systems, equipment and infrastructure resources are based Examples: Citrix XenApp, Windows 7, SQL 2010
