About the Job
Rawson Contractors, Inc., an established regional Sewer, Water Mechanical Contractor, has an immediate opening for an experienced ESTIMATOR / PROJECT MANAGER for open cut sewer and water division at our Corporate office in Sussex, Wisconsin.
Job Will Include:
- Preparing detailed take off construction estimates
- Analyzing projects on a pre-bid basis for strengths and weaknesses
- Obtaining pricing from the competitive bid market plus accurately qualify bids received
- Working with Owners to negotiate new work with established clients
- Perform estimating with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, owners, engineers and company personnel
- Determining creative ways to keep costs down, ensuring goals and objectives are met
- Communicate regularly with Owners to ensure project success
To qualify for the position, we desire:
Must Haves:
- 5-10 years Experience
- Knowledge of subcontracts and prime contracts
- Ability to analyze subs' bids
- Ability to analyze risk
- Understand and manage job schedules
- Understanding of permit and submittal process
- Good negotiation skills
A Plus to Have:
- Knowledge and experience working with MMSD, DOT, City of Milwaukee and
the in Madison area - Knowledge of the HCSS estimating program a plus
- Associates/Bachelors or other related degree

- Excellent verbal written communication
- Organized (both verbal and written)
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to work with and respect a diverse group of people
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage several jobs at once?
