Estimator–Cost Modeling Analyst Job in Olean 14760, New York US
Position Summary:
The Cost Modeling Senior Analyst is responsible for developing accurate and consistent estimates/cost models for parts that will be used to report the estimated product cost. These estimates will be used to determine product development/launch feasibility and profit forecasts. Additionally, estimates of the potential cost impacts of Risks and Opportunities will be evaluated as well as the cost impact of potential schedule slides and or project restructuring will also require evaluation.
Position Qualifications:
Required Preferred:
- BS in Engineering or Quantitative Analysis fields, Supply Chain or Finance. MBA level preferred
- 8 years experience in cost estimating and manufacturing knowledge and familiarity.
- Alternatively BS/BA with minimum 12 years Finance and Manufacturing knowledge/familiarity
- Strong computer skills and modeling experience is required with might include: Microsoft EXCEL, CAD programs and product cost evaluation software.
- Solid analytical skills and a strong business acumen including experience with lean manufacturing processes (Toyota approach), design for manufacturing assembly, Value Engineering/Value Analysis and manufacturing cost structure analysis is preferred.
- Experience working in a cross-functional product development environment is a plus.
- Ability to use and demonstrate statistical and problem solving tools is required. (Experience with DFMAã, CostVisionã, Price-Hã, SEERã, Crystal Ballã, @Riskã and/or related software products is a plus)
- Solid working knowledge of financial classification of cost/products accounting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- Development and ownership of accurate and consistent product cost models/estimates
- Engaging in various activities with cross functional teams that will utilize material cost/design knowledge to drive cost/quality improvement
- Drive world class product cost knowledge enabling support to supply base negotiations, support to the Target Costing process Value Engineering efforts
- Develop baseline life cycle cost estimates for new product or technology concepts
- Evaluate cost impacts of emerging designs and support cost evaluations for trade studies of alternative configurations, materials and processes
- Utilize standard estimating software (TBD) and/or develop and document Cost Estimating Relationships for parametric estimating applications
- Provide Cost/Effectiveness analysis for emerging configurations and/or to support VA/VE activities.
- Conduct regional/site specific cost research as necessary to support estimating requirements
- Present cost results and supporting rationale to executive management as required
- Conduct basic statistical and trend analysis as required
- Perform basic Program/Project financial analysis (NPV, IRR, viability assessment, Peak negative cash etc.)
- Perform quantitative risk analysis for project level and component level cost estimates.
- Support emerging requirements as necessary
