The BW Solutions are a division of BW Interiors and the team provide a high quality fit-out and refurbishment services at Heathrow and the Thames Valley area. In recognition of an increase in resources and workload we are keen to add to our existing team ensuring assistance is made available to this busy, hard-working and deadline-driven department in order to aide and improve its performance at all levels, travel to our Heathrow office will be required on a weekly basis.
- Job Scope
The successful candidate will provide estimating/commercial support and assistance to the BW Solutions team predominately working closely with the Estimating and Commercial Manager; duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Receiving incoming telephone enquiries to the department liaising with sub-contractors, consultants and clients and forwarding messages and calls as appropriat
- Organising and preparing new correspondence and sub-contractor quotation files
- Checking Tender Packages received from consultants to ensure that all parts are included as stated
- Collating estimates by splitting and pricing packages using a combination of subcontract and labour, plant material rates
- Demonstrate an ability to take-off from construction drawings
- Demonstrate an understanding of how to breakdown packages on construction / fit-out projects
- Copying, packaging and sending out sub-contractor tender enquiries as required
- Co-Ordinate site visits where required
- Completing Document Control sheets as requested
- Chasing receipt of Sub-Contractor quotations
- Organising copies of drawings from external suppliers
- Archiving tender documentation as instructed and ensuring internal listing is updated appropriately
- For all successful tenders copying all folders, drawings and documentation for handover to project team
- Contribute towards the tender settlement process
- Carrying out research into Sub-Contractors as requested
- Updating the Estimating Database on a daily basis with new / updated information
- Converting PDF, Excel and Word documents and bills into Causeway
- Managing Mechanical Electrical supplier / manufacturer quotations, distributing to tendering sub-contractors
- Liaising with key suppliers and continually reviewing labour, plant material rates
- Maintaining accurate records of sub-contractors who have or have not failed to price projects (current and historical), marking their performance against a set criteria
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers; consultants and client’s
- Identify our competition on all tenders where possible
- Assisting in other commercial duties were required
Candidate Profile
- Your personal strengths must include a strong personality, excellent organisational and interpersonal communication skills and a determined and passionate attitude
- You must possess a passion for the task and be proactive at all times as well as being able to multi-task and prioritise, working in a fast paced office environment which may include multiple interruptions whilst still meeting strict deadlines and maintaining the highest level of accuracy at all times
- You must possess good IT skills including Word, Outlook and Excel as a minimum
- You must be able to work efficiently and independently at a high rate, completing tasks with minimal supervision demonstrating initiative, flexibility and adaptability
- You will also be a strong team player, whilst showing individuality within this ethos
- Previous experience of airport working would be an advantage.
