National construction management firm seeks professional estimator/project manager with extensive retail construction experience. 

The Estimator/Project Manager will spend about 50% of their time estimating construction projects from plans and 50% of their time involved in the project management of fast paced retail construction projects throughout the United States and Canada. 

 

Responsibilities:

·         Estimate complete projects from plans, inclusive of all MEP and architectural disciplines.

·         Present unit costs when and where needed to estimate options with regard to work scope variations.

·         Work with in-house staff to “value engineer” construction  where practical, to assure constant value to firm's clients.

·         Coordinate the gathering of pertinent information for estimates from various in-house departments.

·         As a project manager:  liaison between clients representatives and firm, for any assigned  projects.

·         Assure that design directives, client directives and first quality workmanship is undertaken on a daily basis to produce the finest quality retail projects possible.

·         As a project manager:  compile bid lists, solicit project bids, qualify bids, and work with Director of Project Management to award bids to the best qualified firm.

·         As a project manager, take charge of all assigned projects from “cradle to grave”, encompassing all aspects and phases of each project.

·         Compile and maintain pricing history on an ongoing basis, for use as a resource and reference. 

 

Requirements:

·         Educational:  Bachelor’s degree in related field

·         Computer:  Must be fluent in Microsoft Office and have experience with MS Project or Primavera

·         Work Experience:  Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industry.  Estimating experience should include a mix of tenant fit out projects in traditional mall locations as well as stand-alone “one-off” sites. 

·         Other:  Must have a valid passport and driver’s license due to the need to travel both nationally and internationally
