AECOM Government Services supports the U.S. federal government with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support. Purpose : Obtains data on labor and material costs and requirements and negotiates for most favorable terms. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Gathers details and compiles data to estimate all production costs according to specifications. Considers raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, labor, taxes and transportation for estimations. Contacts vendors and prepares/processes Requests For Quotes (RFQs). Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints. Determines a product or project cost. Negotiates with vendors/suppliers for the best delivery times/prices/terms. Maintains f amiliarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Maintains files and contacts with vendors. Interfaces with pricing personnel and assists in preparing pricing proposals as needed. Performs a variety of related tasks. Education: High school graduate, college degree preferred. Experience: Eight (8) years operations supervisory experience. Prefer at least four (4) years military experience. Specialized knowledge and skills : Proficient using Word and Excel. Proficient in estimating man hours of effort from workload data.
