ETD Controls Manager

Our client are seeking a candidate who can manage the Controls environment across the varied activities performed within the Listed Derivatives Operations team and to ensure the team are equipped to deliver a high quality function. This is a high profile role and the successful candidate will have broad exposure to multiple aspects of the business and will be required to shape and influence the controls environment which is required to support the business. The chief responsibility of the Control team is to ensure that the Listed Derivatives Operations team is operating strong control practices across all functions, by ensuring that all systems, markets and processes that exist across the Operations team all comply with internal controls and external regulatory requirements. The manager of the Control team will have the responsibility of developing team members around all aspects of markets rules and the how internal controls impact the area, as well as driving and coordinating the control initiatives whether planned objectives or ad hoc initiatives that arise. The specific role will require the successful candidate to regularly interact with Senior Operations, Business and Product Controls managers and represent Listed Derivatives Operations Control at various internal committees, and external regulatory /industry meetings.

The core responsibilities of the Controls function comprises 5 key areas :

Ensuring that core daily line managed/central control team control functions are appropriately completed within specified deadlines for internal and external tasks e.g.(Exchange and regulator Transaction /Position reporting.)
Daily interaction with Ops risk /Compliance teams for any control orientated tasks
Provision and review of monthly control MIS and regulator returns including SOX sign off
Management /Compliance of Corporate led control requirements e.g. End User Computing, AML
Coordination of Global Banking and Markets control governance models including Key Controls Framework and Control Self Assessment Facilitation of Client Onboarding

Principal Accountabilities:

Coordinate regular comprehensive reviews of futures operations controls performed across all functions within the team
Ensure that detailed gap analysis is produced between current futures controls against the rules laid out in FIM 12 and 33
Create a single effective and centralised control framework incorporating all the existing control reports, MIS and tasks that are performed today for the various stakeholders and global control groups.
Implement policing of controls implemented across the department, including spot checks, metrics analysis and periodic reviews
Coordinate the collation and analysis of control-related MIS for Global Control Stakeholders, whether Capacity or Brightlines data or KRIs
Document all controls that are performed manually within the department and the scalability of those controls versus increased futures business growth in Asia and ensure that strategic solutions are identified
Coordinate the review of strategic projects that should include solution to automate existing manual controls and where strategic projects are not in scope, identify other means to automate manual controls
Act as a control checkpoint for any new business, significant business growth, project implementation or any key process change before any go-live
Take the lead in the audit processes and act as point person and coordinator for all audit or other reviews of operational processes and practices
Engage is active training, reading and research of all EMEA market rules, regulations and market practices with the aim of becoming expert across all EMEA markets
