Position Description:
The VP, ETF Marketing Communications (MarComm) will help manage, enhance and protect PIMCO's brand and reputation as an ETF provider, in support of PIMCO's ETF distribution efforts across institutional and retail channels. The primary objectives of this role are to develop and spearhead the execution of a strategy to build broader awareness, differentiation and knowledge of PIMCO ETFs among investors and key influencers by harnessing the firm's MarComm resources as an integral tool to achieving business objectives.
The VP of ETF Marketing Communications will be part of PIMCO's MarComm department, and will work closely with MarComm resources acting as the primary point of contact for all aspects of ETF marketing communications, including strategy, tactics, and metrics. Critical elements of the VP ETF Marketing Communications role include developing a high-impact ETF marketing communications strategy; coordinating the creation of PIMCO's ETFs thought leadership and marketing content, digital strategies, as well as paid media, sponsorships, conference participation and events. The VP ETF Marketing Communications will also work closely with PIMCO's media relations team, which is responsible for identifying and managing media opportunities for the firm across all business lines.
The role reports to the EVP, Global Head of Marketing Communications and will have a dotted-line reporting relationship to the SVP ETF Strategist in the Global Wealth Management group.

Areas of Responsibilities:

• Strategic planning and execution: Develop a strategic marketing communications plan in close collaboration with key members of MarComm, client facing and product management teams. This includes determining priorities, allocation of resources, budgeting and measurement of ROI. Spearhead and be directly involved in the full implementation of the strategic plan, acting as a "player-coach" in close collaboration with members of the MarComm team and colleagues across the firm's ETF business.
• Digital: Collaborate with PIMCO's Digital Media Group (DMG) which is also a part of MarComm, regarding digital strategy to support the achievement of the firm's ETF business objectives. While primary responsibility and management of all of PIMCO's digital properties resides with the DMG, the VP ETF MarComm will be a point of coordination for PIMCO's ETF website.

o Develop new digital content in coordination with PIMCO's investment professionals
o Develop high-impact interactive strategies to help build awareness and consideration of PIMCO's ETF offerings.
Develop market segmentation and targeted communication strategies for differentiated ETF prospects
o Interface with ETF sales, strategy and product managers to identify the needs of clients and implement digital strategies to address these needs
• Marketing content and collateral materials: Spearhead the development, writing and production of content, including thought leadership and marketing collateral materials, data driven materials (online and offline).
• Competitive and brand research: Establish competitive intelligence and research capability to track and analyze key competitors to inform PIMCO's ETF brand positioning and strategy. Oversee the development and execution of periodic brand research to track and measure PIMCO's brand in the ETF space to further inform the firm's ETF brand positioning and strategy.
• Paid media: Participate in the formulation of ETF paid media initiatives. Work closely with the firm's advertising agency and help manage the review and approval process.
• Conferences and sponsorships: Identify appropriate conferences for PIMCO to participate in and sponsor. Manage interactions with conference organizers. Participate in relevant conferences with members of the ETF team.
• Media relations: The VP ETF Marketing Communications will collaborate with PIMCO's media team to develop and implement a proactive media relations strategy focused on engaging key trade and financial media to support and promote the firm's ETF business objectives. However, this is not a media relations role and the individual in this position will not directly interact with media or manage media relations.

Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
• 7-10 years of marketing communications experience working with established, leading financial services brands.
• Proven track record of success managing marketing communications in the ETF space
• Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and leading teams toward the achievement of measurable business objectives.
• Strong technical skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Must excel at time management and demonstrate ability to effectively balance strategic and tactical needs of the role and work with various levels of management and with external vendors.
• Team player who is capable of managing multiple tasks with tight deadlines
• Well organized, high energy/self-starter with the ability to work independently within the firm's demanding and highly focused environment
• Clear commitment to PIMCO's culture, values and approach
• Master's degree preferred, but not required
