ETF Project Administrator recruitment
Vanguard, one of the world's largest investment management companies and a recognized employer of choice, seeks an ETF project administrator to support the ETF Trading and Execution team by focusing on monitoring and reducing spreads, supporting the FAS sales team, managing relationships in the market making and exchange community, and engaging in projects and analysis related to expanding Vanguard's presence in the Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) market.
Your primary duties and responsibilities:
- Supports existing relationships with outside firms including Exchanges, Specialist firms, market makers, institutional trading desks, proprietary traders, and software providers.
- Develops and maintains a broad knowledge and awareness of trading industry developments, competitors, and exchange rules that impact the trading community both US and internationally.
- Supports the AP Agreement process by assisting with signing up new Authorized Participants. Audits and maintains authorized persons for all AP firms. Develops and maintains relationships with Vanguard ETF custody bank representatives in order to effectively manage the AP Agreement process.
- Supports Financial Advisor Services (FAS) Sales team by educating clients on trading best practices.
- Develops a broad knowledge of investment strategies (e.g. options, futures, etc.) and researches market events. Understands the impacts of strategies and market events on client portfolios and positions and educates clients appropriately.
- Supports Institutional Sales and International teams through the development and delivery of sales presentations, conference calls, and by responding to inquires while serving as a resource for Vanguard clients and FAS Sales.
- Develops and maintains a broad knowledge and awareness of ETF industry developments, competitors and trends, regulatory changes, and exchange rules that may impact Vanguard or the trading of Vanguard ETFs.
- Participates in competitive analysis research projects to support Vanguard ETFs. Participates on ETF product strategy teams as technical resource and liaison with FAS. Leverages industry and technical research to help develop training for Vanguard. Supports efforts surrounding ETF spreads, execution quality, and premium discount.
- Attends industry conferences or Vanguard symposiums.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Minimum three years general experience and/or three years of industry/technology related experience.
- Proven self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Series 7 and 63 licenses or ability to obtain within 3 months.
- General understanding of Vanguard's business, the investment industry, and the ETF marketplace.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts quickly and complete multiple and diverse assignments with the highest level of quality and accuracy.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
- Very strong interpersonal communication skills and superior written communication skills.
- Unquestioned ability to handle highly confidential material.
