General Role Overview
State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management arm of State Street Corporation, is one of the world’s leading money managers with around $US2 trillion in assets under management. Its SPDR ETF business is the second largest ETF business in the world with around $270bn AUM and Asia Pacific is a key growth market for SPDR ETFs.
Asia in particular is a key market for SPDR ETFs and we expect assets in Asia to grow exponentially over the next years. This position is a key role to help SPDR ETFs in Asia position itself to take advantage of the growth opportunity by providing both sales and client service support with institutions, asset managers, insurance companies, and intermediaries.
This is a permanent role working within our Exchange Traded Fund business.
Key Responsibilities
The role holder has the following responsibilities:
1)Core functional responsibilities:
A) Conduct sales activities for target client segments
- Covers institutions, asset managers, insurance companies, and intermediaries
- Conducts client meetings independently as well as in conjunction with other colleagues; and delivers client presentations in professional and structured manner
- Initiates sales activities and identifies business opportunities proactively
- Follows through the sales process in timely and professional manner
B) Improve understanding of client base
- Is responsible for mapping and researching the organisational structure of target client segments
- Supports client tiering and strategy with relevant information
C) Client service
- Works with SSgA colleagues to provide required services and to resolve client enquiries
- Takes inbound calls and provides education and information to clients
- Works closely with the institutional sales team and provides product support / technical product sales expertise
D) Follow up leads and telesales
- Converts leads through telephone and email activity
- Works with SSgA colleagues to provide required services and to resolve client enquiries
E) Sales material
- Identifies the required sales material in conjunction with sales and marketing colleagues
F) ONYX contact database
- Ensures the integrity of the ONYX CRM database
- Works with the ONYX team to ensure training is being delivered and adequate system functionality is in place
G) Sales process implementation and improvements
- Support implementation of the sales process and service levels
- Support review of sales activities with a view to improving process and efficiency
- Support client segmentation work and suggest changes where appropriate
2)Supervisory and team responsibilities
A) This role has no direct reports but the role holder is expected to work in a matrix organisation across SPDR and SSgA
3)Experience and required competencies
- 4 years of relevant sales and client service experience either with ETFs or other related investment products
- Strong sales skills with track record of client interactions and presentations
- Strong ETF product knowledge
- Track record of managing client relationships across market segments
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in matrix organisation
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Willingness to challenge the status quo and make suggestions for improvements in ways of working
