The EuroTech Universities Alliance is a network of four leading universities in science and technology, namely the Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU), the Technische Universität München (TUM), the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e) and Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). The four universities belong to the top level of research universities in Europe. Together they are committed to finding technical solutions for the grand challenges of society. The alliance is a forum to design guiding themes for research, education, technology transfer and entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the alliance engages in policy definition with the stakeholders of society.
For its newly established Brussels office, the EuroTech Universities Alliance is looking for an
The EU Affairs Coordinator's responsibilities will be:
- To represent the EuroTech Universities in Brussels, to conduct external communication by maintaining constant dialogue with the European Commission and European Parliament as well as other EU regulators and stakeholders, and to promote the goals and competences of the Alliance.
- To have a high level of own initiative and provide strategic advice to the Alliance management and to ensure coordination and development to achieve set goals and general objectives of the EuroTech Universities Alliance.
- To facilitate and foster communication between Alliance members and to establish novel networking tools.
- To initiate and support the development of joint collaborative research projects and platforms.
- To manage the office budget and infrastructure.
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- Verifiable working experience (5+ years), of which several years (3+) were in Brussels in the field of European research, innovation and education policy.
- Comprehensive understanding of how policy is made and influenced at European level.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with strong interpersonal, project and people management skills, and an established network at EU Level. The office will be integrated into internal and external networks. You should be conscientious, flexible, cooperative, and positive.
- Good resource management skills relating to budget.
- Excellent language skills in English and in at least one other language, preferably French, Dutch, German or Danish.
- Obtained a master?s degree or equivalent.
The position (place of residence in Brussels within a team of our universities' representatives) will give you the opportunity to work for the leading technical universities in Europe and offers employment for two years in the first instance. The appointment is for a fixed duration and in accordance with the German Collective Agreement for Public Services, as the office is established under the lead management of the Technische Universität München.
