European Equity Analyst / Trainee Fund Manager – Asset Management recruitment

The Opportunity:

• This is a truly unique opportunity to be part of something completely brand new

• The European Fund (ex UK) is being established to compliment the very well established fund management offering at this boutique asset manager which has an enviable track record of success through the launching of innovative investment products and the hiring of very talented individuals

• This new fund is due to launch soon and the lead fund manager is a hugely experienced individual with an excellent record of success over his long career. He takes a pragmatic view to investing and is a high conviction fund manager

• You will be supporting the new fund manager directly and will be responsible for conducting research into companies and providing investment views on specific sectors, with a view to generating new ideas, as well as the appraisal of existing holdings

• The investment process is very fundamental in nature and you will be expected to demonstrate a deep understanding of companies and their valuation, through a review of profit forecasts and the appraisal of their financial position etc, followed by the production of research notes for internal use

• The fund will be focused on Continental Europe (ex UK), focused on mainly the larger cap stocks (€1bn +) , however the liquidity of the stock is a very important consideration when considering their suitability for inclusion in the portfolio

Your Profile:

• You will be an experienced Equity Analyst with some solid exposure to companies within Continental Europe

• Ideally you will be working on the buy-side and will be a sector generalist, although knowledge of the Financials, Utilities AND/OR Pharmaceutical sector will be highly advantageous

• It is essential that you are a stock picker and fundamentally driven in terms of your research approach

• You must be able to form an opinion with a high level of conviction AND demonstrate the confidence in presenting these ideas internally, as well as conducting meetings with directors of quoted companies

• You will have passed a minimum of level 1 of the CFA and be motivated to complete the qualification

• You will have a record of academic achievement within a relevant numerate discipline
