European FC

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Accountant to join an international brand management business based in Surrey. The business service a high profile client base including Google, Asda, AIG, Iceland, Tommy Hilfiger and Intel. As such the UK business expanded internationally to meet the requirements of their clients and have achieved excellent growth over the last 10 years.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the European FC will be responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions, analysis and reporting for companies in Europe are completed within deadlines and to the standards required. You will have responsibility for leading a team of three part qualified Accountants and four Accounts Assistants.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Preparation of monthly Management Accounts for all companies in Europe within the timelines required
- Ensure reconciliations and analysis has been completed
- Monthly gross profit calculations, including work-in-progress, cost of sales accrual calculations, variance analysis
- Working with other teams to understand and resolve monthly variances
- Monthly calculation and reporting of KPIs and other reports with commentary

· Responsibility for ensuring that all business finance procedures and processes are followed
- Responsibility for bookkeeping for all companies in Europe
- Compliance with local requirements, including regular communication with local advisors
- Daily cash flow monitoring and reporting
- Supporting the annual budget and reforecast process
- Review and monitor credit control
- Review and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Review and monitor payroll issues and related returns processes are completed within timescales
- Cash flow reporting and management, including bank reconciliations
- Identifying and making recommendations for potential cost reductions
- Review and formation of accounting procedures
- Advising the business on processes affecting Finance and assisting in monitoring and enforcing compliance

· Ensuring the processing of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions are performed accurately and within timescales required

· Providing advice and support for staff throughout the Group

· Supporting management in adhering to statutory requirements

- Ensure all statutory returns for all companies in Europe are completed accurately and on time

· Responsible for the planning and preparation of annual audits as required by local regulations.
- Planning and preparation of annual audits
- Liaising with local and Head Office staff and auditors to ensure the smooth running of annual audits
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated accounts

· Completion of ad hoc requests and working on ad hoc projects when required
