European Product Manager
Reporting to Head of European Product Management
Location: London
Purpose or Role:
SSgA manages and is promoter of over 300 European funds in multiple domiciles and legal structures across all strategies and asset classes. The European Product Management team is responsible for managing all processes related to fund governance. He/she will be responsible for overseeing all fund processes and governance in relation to SSgA funds domiciled in Dublin (80-100 funds in different legal structures). This will include product management support for the funds, maintaining all fund documentation, co-ordination of board meetings, reports and financial reporting and working closely with the product development team on new products and initiatives.He/she will also be responsible for identifying strategic opportunities to enhance all funds and processes to better meet the needs of our clients and to increase the profitability of SSgA while minimizing risks.
Major Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely execution of all BAU processes with a focus on minimising enterprise risk. Processes include board support, audit coordination, global query inbox management, fund maintenance (e.g. regular prospectus reviews, fund mergers/changes, share class creation) and product viability analyses.
- Resolve all daily tactical issues related to all projects, products and procedures based on a solid understanding of the investment strategies, fund structures and regulatory requirement. Ensure appropriate coordination with all relevant internal and external stakeholders globally (Investment Management, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Board, Custodian and Fund Administrator, etc) and escalate where appropriate.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency of SSgA’s Irish fund offering based on solid analysis, including competitive analysis.
- Proactive monitoring of regulation in order to manage changes/opportunities for funds
Education and Experience:
- University degree or equivalent + proven extensive relevant experience in fund / product management or development
- Strong and proven project management skills
Specific Technical Knowledge/Experience:
- Significant in-depth experience with management of funds domiciled in Dublin (preferable) or Lux
- Proven knowledge of European fund regulation (eg UCITS IV, Mifid, AIFMD)
- Good understanding of pan-European asset management industry and solutions required by asset owners and intermediaries
