European Rates Market Making Team – C++ Developer/Quantitative Technologist recruitment

A highly respected and renowned global investment bank is looking to hire an experienced C++ developer to join their European Fixed Income Trading Team.

Their business goals for 2012 is to become the industry’s premier market maker in electronic trading for European Rates products across both exchange-traded products and OTC markets as they make their transition into the world of electronic trading.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the technology and implementing the trading strategies behind the market making business.

Technology is viewed as the core of the business. You need to be an enthusiastic technologist at heart but also somebody who wants to use technology as a means to solve complex financial problems as opposed to somebody who simply likes technology. This is a role that makes extensive use of both technical and quantitative reasoning.

As a member of this team, you’ll be involved in the development of a high frequency trading system for European Rates, facing off directly with the quants and traders to develop a framework they can use to research, develop and implement trading strategies.

You will also have the following background:

- 5-7 years experience within financial software development.
- Specialist C++ Developer
- Exposure to other languages, particularly Java considered a distinct advantage.
- Front office trading system development.

Any past experience developing large, high performance, grid-distributed systems would also be very welcome.

You need to also demonstrate the following:
- Evidence of the ability to communicate with less technical users in order to understand requirements.
- Strong interest in computer science and trading.
- Commitment to high quality software development.
- Commitment to completing projects.
