MSCI Marketing Communications
The Marketing function exists to provide client and industry insights and bring more knowledge and discipline in shaping the Business Units’ strategies and direct our Client Organization’s activities. A key part of this is Marketing Communications, which is tasked with translating business objectives into clear communications directed at clients and prospective clients via the most appropriate channels. Events are a major communication channel for MSCI whether hosted by MSCI or exhibiting/speaking at third party industry events.
Position Overview
This role will be responsible managing events across 1-2 Business Units including hosted events such as conferences, webinars, seminars workshops, as well as MSCI’s participation at external events such as industry conferences.
The Event Coordinator will work closely with the Global Events Manager the Business Unit Marketing Team, and will also interact with key functions within MSCI including Client Coverage, Research and Product Management. This position requires an individual who is able to communicate across time zones and geographies, to multitask effectively and who combines a detailed approach to managing events and projects with event registration system and CRM expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage events for 1-2 Business Units from initial concept through to evaluation and feedback
- Pre-event responsibilities include:
- Working with Business Unit Marketing Heads to agree most appropriate format for the event (eg roundtable, seminar, webinar), refine invite content to meet house style and define target audience to be invited
- Liaising with suppliers including venues, audio visual, catering, video editors, etc…
- Liaising with on-site hosts and any third party hosts regarding room set-up, AV, collateral and catering
- Liaising with industry conference organizers
- Posting event details on internal and external websites
- Coordinating requirements and dry runs with speakers
- Sending and tracking email invitations, reminders and other communications
- Managing and distributing registration lists internally
- Enforcing and following-up on deadlines for presentations etc
- Post-event responsibilities include:
- Data entry into CRM system to track attendees and no shows
- Compile tallies for evaluation forms submitted by clients
- Send follow-up emails and communications to clients
- Tracking expenditures
- Storing uploading all documentation in shared location
- Evaluate success of each event and produce quarterly event reviews to share with BU Marketing and Events Team
• Research and maintain global industry conference calendars for 1-2 Business Units
Skills and Experience required
- University degree in Finance, Marketing or related discipline
- 4-5 years of events experience, preferably within financial services
- Previous experience in mass emailing and CRM database management
- Working knowledge of html and websites
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including fluent English
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to multitask and work in a global environment
- Willingness and ability to take the initiative
