Job Title:              Event Coordinator / Sales Associate

Reports to:              Manager of Events Director of Eloise at The Plaza

Supervises:              Sales Associates Party Assistants

 

Overview:

 

This is a new position and has the potential for growth opportunities for the right candidate. The Event Coordinator / Sales Associate is an ambassador for Eloise at The Plaza during children’s birthday parties, other events and on the sales floor. As such, the person hired for this position is expected to ensure children’s birthday parties and all other duties are executed with the highest level of customer service and attention to detail, as befits a shop located in The Plaza Hotel. The Event Coordinator / Sales Associate reports to the Manager of Events for all event work and to the Director of Eloise for general sales associate duties. The person in this position will be expected to be a partner in growing the Eloise at The Plaza event business and actively participate in new business development.

 

Requirements

 

·         Comfortable and enjoy working with young children and their parents.

·         Energetic and enjoy playing children’s games.

·         Adaptable during events and able solve problems as they happen.

·         Able to multi-task and execute several events per week.

·         Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time, to move and handle boxes of merchandise and furniture.

·         Ability to work weekends, holidays and a varied schedule as needed.

 

Event Coordinator Responsibilities

 

·         Execute birthday parties and other events, including setup and cleanup efficiently.

·         Supervise sales associates assisting parties and other events.

·         Liaison with The Plaza Food Hall, Warren-Tricomi Salon, and event partners.

·         Maintain event inventory and coordinate re-orders as needed.

·         Update event invoices and catering orders as needed during parties.

·         Promote events and marketing initiatives.

·         Research new arts and craft activities, children’s games, and event ideas.

 

Sales Associate Responsibilities

 

·         Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service.

·         Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping.

·         Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise and monitoring floor stock.

·         Communicate customer requests to management.

·         Assist in completing price changes within the department.

·         Participate in year-end inventory and cycle counts.

·         Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by any manager.
