Our Americas Distribution group, located in Stamford, CT is currently seeking an Event Manager to oversee the events conducted on behalf of Legg Mason, including client meetings (Investment Forums and other similar events), internal sales meetings, sponsorships and trade shows.
Key Responsibilities and Duties Include, but not Limited to:
- Collaborate with sales ad channel marketing on strategic planning and execution of events;
- Project leader guiding event planning team members as well as colleagues from other internal departments to ensure successful execution of events including:
o Development of project timeline
o Identification of target audience
o Content creation for invites, confirmation/welcome kits, signage and other deliverables as needed
o Registration process/oversight of database
o Onsite logistics - Supervise in the strategy, creative development, production, distribution and maintenance of all event materials;
- Develop planning documents and recap reports upon project completion;
- Assist in research and measuring results;
- Monitor budgets, prepare invoices and work with accounting to identify/resolve billings;
- Manage the development, production, negotiation and creation of premium items for events and corporate store;
- Travel to events and provide on-site support with various roles (30-40% travel).
Ideal Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, PR, Finance or other related field;
- 5-7 years experience including prior experience in event planning;
- Strong negotiating skills, ability to negotiate with vendors;
- Detail-oriented with superb organizational skills;
- Basic understanding of asset management industry;
- Superior verbal and written communication.
