Event Manager recruitment

 Role

We are looking to recruit a senior manager to the marketing team; someone with considerable experience in event management, strong strategic and creative views and a thorough understanding of wider marketing disciplines. 

Responsibilities

• To work alongside the Events and Sponsorship Manager to plan, budget and manage our client event activity, positioning the company’s product range according to the group’s broader marketing strategy

• To understand, critique and advise on the relative value, merit and positioning of the different retail and institutional events across the UK and Europe

• To research and understand the changing characteristics and strategy of the different sales distribution channels to successfully target clients

• To develop and manage the relationship with sales heads, managing their involvement, expectations and resource requirements throughout the event management process

• To take ownership and responsibility for client events from the initial concept and design through to event attendance and follow up

• To develop new creative concepts and devise additional written, supporting collateral for the marketing of events, conferences and roadshows

• To work with fund managers, economists and analysts, enabling a thorough understanding of our products and how best to represent them across marketing material

• To lead idea generation for new marketing initiatives to achieve stand out from our peers in our client events and face-to-face client contact

• To build industry contacts amongst peers and external third party suppliers, ensuring the firm is represented at a senior, strategic level in the industry

Person specification

• 10 years’ experience working in asset management

• A minimum of 5 years dedicated to event management, including strategic and hands-on involvement

• Ability to work as part of a two-person team spearheading our event strategy

• Independently manage projects, according to strict deadlines and budgets

• Be a high-achieving graduate, with an eye for detail and a focus on client service and excellence

• Have proven written and verbal communication skills; examples of written marketing collateral generated by the candidate would be appreciated

• Ability to think differently and put forward progressive, original ideas

• Ability to work on and prioritise multiple projects and liaise across various departments

• Confident in own ability, able to take responsibility and pride in quality of work produced

• Desire to be part of a highly motivated, hard-working team
