Excel / VBA Developer – Financial Firm – £40-50k recruitment
My client is a very successful financial information provider based in the City of London. They are known are the fastest growing private company in the UK today.
The team that is looking to hire is currently the largest OTC trade reporting venue for the European Cash Equity market. Daily, they distribute over €20b in trade reported volumes from multilateral trading facilities and European Brokers.
As a VBA developer in this team you will work on a reporting application that generates MS Excel and Word formatted report documents for distribution to contributors to the platform. You will own the database, existing reports and requirements gathering / development for new reports.
This role requires the successful candidate to work as part of a team and also as an individual, taking full responsibility and owning the reporting database and associated reporting tools.
You will carry out the necessary performance analysis to ensure that the reports complete in reasonable time. You will be liaising with the business - the financial analysts and heads of business to gather their requirements.
From a technical perspective you must be able to demonstrate solid experience writing VBA applications for MS Excel and Word. VBA Development is the main skill required, but SQL and MySQL databases should also feature in your skill set, as well as Subversion, or a similar version control system.
From a business perspective, basic equities knowledge - i.e. basic terminology is desirable but not essential. If you have previous financial experience, this will help, but to be honest, this is a great place to learn about finance so if you have a genuine interest and you're hungry to learn you will fit in very well!
