EXCLUSIVE INSTRUCTION – Operational Risk Manager recruitment

THE COMPANY:

Our client is a leading corporate and retail bank who are looking for a candidate to assist in the management of the Operational Risk Framework across Europe, the candidate will work closely with different business areas and the raise the profile of Operational Risk and ensure the control environment, across Europe is robust.
The role will also provide support and oversight, as required, of business continuity and the delivery of key operational risk projects and priorities.

RESPONSIBILITES:

Team up with businesses to ensure risk management and controls are embedded in daily operational activities.
Build relationships with the business and be familiar with the operational risks faced by each business.
Identify, analyse and risk-rate operational risks faced by the business and facilitate the creation of business risk registers
Re-design inadequate controls and/or design new controls to manage key risks or develop treatment plans, as necessary
Ensure the control environment and testing follows guidelines set out in the Operational Risk Framework and other relevant Group policies.
Assist with the management of operational risk forums and meetings
Coordinate routine risk returns e.g. risk certification, business continuity
Support implementation of risk policies and procedures.
Manage the resolution of operating incidents and losses and ensure appropriate risk mitigants are implemented.
Analyse incident/operating loss data as a basis for assessing the accuracy and appropriateness of risks, and their ratings and developing trend analysis.
Team up with the businesses to ensure the firm’s BCP control environment is appropriate – test and train where necessary
Manage operational risk projects and priorities.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Sound working knowledge of operational risk management principles and practices across multiple lines of businesses and geographies is essential.
Experience with risk-based testing or audit preferable.
Relevant professional qualifications are highly desirable
