The area: Executive Communications
As a member of the Executive Communications team based in Mountain View, you will write about Google's products, business, strategy, and culture, and interview Google executives for the company intranet site. You're a very strong writer who can process complex issues quickly and explain them in clear, to the point language. You must be knowledgeable, or able to get up to speed quickly, about the full portfolio of Google's products. You're a team player who collaborates easily with internal partners across functions (Legal, HR, IR, etc) and geographies. Things happen quickly at Google, to succeed here you need to be creative and entrepreneurial - a self-starter who gets things done and isn't afraid to take risks and try out new ways of doing things.
The role: Executive Communications Associate, Editorial
As a member of the Global Communications Public Affairs team, you will work cross-functionally to help communicate with journalists and other thought leaders; devise specific communications materials and campaigns based on understanding of journalists' interests; engage in face-to-face meetings with commentators and other opinion formers; develop print and web-based material supporting these campaigns; and counter misinformation that might interfere with our business and ability to serve our users. We're looking for great communicators who can understand complex issues and explain them in person and also via well written, simple blog posts, FAQs, video scripts and more.
Responsibilities:
- Write and produce employee news stories and communications under tight deadlines
- Manage execution of team editorial calendar for internal employee news platform, our primary channel for communicating with Googlers worldwide
- Develop unique content across a wide range of company topics and interview internal thought leaders and executives
- Enforce highest editorial standards for articles and features on the internal employee news platform
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree. In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience
- 2 years relevant work experience
- Experience in a content creation or editorial role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven communicator excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Team player who can work calmly and quickly in high-stress environments
- Strong attention to detail
