Our newly formed organization (Operational Excellence and Process Transformation) is designed to improve the value Verizon delivers to its customers, employees and shareowners by identifying and implementing process improvements that will create a more efficient, effective and agile company.

 

The Executive Director of Corporate Learning Metrics has the ultimate responsibility and accountability for the effective training of all levels of our colleagues at Verizon on Lean Six Sigma and other improvement methodologies to help achievement of the desired results. This position will report to the VP of Business process Excellence innovation. The Executive Director will have 10-12 direct reports that may include other Directors. Lead industry/world experts in subject matter creating a learning environment

This individual works at an enterprise level to define the expectations while working directly with the Executive staff to coordinate the timely implementation of the Lean Six Sigma training strategy and corporate wide web enabled system deployment to track lean six sigma progress. 

This person will be recognized as the ultimate authority in all aspects of business process excellence training, with in depth knowledge of lean six sigma, other relevant methodologies, and business process improvements. He or She will have a proven track record of implementing, managing and obtaining results from Lean Six Sigma at a complex large corporation. He or She must be change agent and passion for educating and growing people. This person must be a constantly learner to continuous evolve/innovate of our core process excellence training.

•Develops the overall vision for corporate wide lean Six Sigma training, and e-tool for tracking, appropriates resources and approves the high level training deployment guidance

•Manages the expectations, anticipated results and annual planning specific to Lean Six Sigma training and corporate goal setting

•Proactively supports and leads the training deployment of the Lean Six Sigma effort in harmony with the overall business vision for the most benefit to the business ensuring that Lean Six Sigma is driven at all levels of the organization

•Drafts and obtains consensus from the business LSS leadership team to adopt training, and themes to make it our own, Verizon lean six sigma.

•Develop and maintains a long term training plan, establish successful training and certification criteria

•Manage a training agenda, logistics, and course certifications

•Develops training material or improvises training material (if obtained from outside) to make it flow with our CREDO, and CEO vision, and our core value

•Lead all training and tracking related work with external consultants

•Constantly adopt Verizon successes stories and business success/failure examples in to training material

•Continuously work with Corporate HR to sync Lean Six Sigma training and change management to other leadership educations and learning

•Provides proactive ongoing communications to the training and continuously plan to deploy in a cost effective manner

•Resolves issues, concerns and conflicts at the executive level on matters affecting the planned training of Lean Six Sigma

•Build a world class team for corporate sustainment of process excellence and innovation

•Create corporate wide lean six sigma metrics, participate at Lean Six Sigma leadership reviews with company Executive Leaders and Champions to assess the progress, status and issues

•Develop IT systems for corporate tracking

•Share lessons learned and proposed actions to improve.

 

Required Skills Experience:

 

•8 – 10 years of experience in leading, designing and implementing lean systems in complex and matrixed operations of large corporations

Six Sigma Certification

•Experience with budget accountabilities including the establishment and provisioning for all Lean Six Sigma related costs for training, consulting, as well as web enabled system development for tracking six sigma progresses.

•An expert with analytical methods, and statistical concepts; recognized outside his/her organization

•4-year degree in engineering, business, or technical discipline or equivalent work experience (first consideration will be given to those with a degree)

•Skillful in relationship building and negotiating, and will demonstrate a strong "can do" attitude

•Respected and trusted leader with a proven track record of achievement, solid management skills and a reputation as an industry leader  

•A broad knowledge of Business process Excellence across various

•Excellent presentation skills with solid communication capabilities and practices, both oral and written

•Understands and appreciates the application and power of analytical techniques and data driven decision making. Strong understanding of Statistical methods applied to business problem solving a plus.

•Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Proven record of performance and trusted professional credibility

Proven leadership skills and business acumen - performance driven

•Broad strategic thinker, with clear vision and direction of world class change management

Quick learner who can assimilate the company's strategies and change philosophies

 

 

Desired Skills Experience:

 

•A Ph.D. or graduate degree highly desirable
