 Executive Director, Early Childhood Center (ECC)

Position Description

This is a 12-month non-tenure track Assistant Professor position with a 100% administrative assignment. The executive director leads ECC development and grant writing efforts as well as collaborative research activities of the ECC in support of the lab school mission of research, teaching, and service. In addition, this individual provides oversight of the ECC Director and administrative staff.

Responsibilities include:

 

Required Qualifications

·         Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education, Human Development and Family Studies, Psychology, or a related field

·         Evidence of collaborative research expertise in HDFS or related disciplines

·         Strong interpersonal and professional public relations skills

·         Proven ability to work collaboratively with faculty, early childhood professionals, and community members

·         Strong oral and written communication skills

·         Evidence of potential for grant-writing success

·         Relevant administrative and budgetary experience

·         Organizational skills including a demonstrated ability to do detailed work, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience in an early childhood center, preferably a university laboratory early childhood center

·         Experience in early childhood education administration

·         Scholarly publication record and/or success in obtaining grants in early childhood

·         Budget planning and management experience

·         Experience fund-raising for non-profit organization

Salary and Benefits

Salary (12 months) is competitive commensurate with experience.  CSU has an excellent selection of benefits.
