Executive Director, Early Childhood Center (ECC)
Position Description
This is a 12-month non-tenure track Assistant Professor position with a 100% administrative assignment. The executive director leads ECC development and grant writing efforts as well as collaborative research activities of the ECC in support of the lab school mission of research, teaching, and service. In addition, this individual provides oversight of the ECC Director and administrative staff.

Responsibilities include:
- Strategic development and fund-raising to support the ECC, in collaboration with the HDFS department head and office of development
- Strategic planning and development of research infrastructure in ECC and training and research partnerships with faculty in HDFS and other units on campus
- Supervision of ECC senior staff (Director of Operations, Director of Student Learning, center administrative assistant, center Graduate Assistant)
- Oversight and planning of advancement of ECC budget HR processes
- Development of data tracking systems for outcome evaluations, annual report, and benchmarking activities related to ECC visibility, reputation, and quality
- Writing of grants and contracts to support ECC training opportunities for CSU students, and participation as appropriate in research grants involving the ECC
- Direction of CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents In School) grant and program
- Development of strategic partnerships with families and organizations in the Fort Collins community
- Development of partnerships within national community of lab schools
Required Qualifications
· Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education, Human Development and Family Studies, Psychology, or a related field
· Evidence of collaborative research expertise in HDFS or related disciplines
· Strong interpersonal and professional public relations skills
· Proven ability to work collaboratively with faculty, early childhood professionals, and community members
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Evidence of potential for grant-writing success
· Relevant administrative and budgetary experience
· Organizational skills including a demonstrated ability to do detailed work, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in an early childhood center, preferably a university laboratory early childhood center
· Experience in early childhood education administration
· Scholarly publication record and/or success in obtaining grants in early childhood
· Budget planning and management experience
· Experience fund-raising for non-profit organization
